  • 2/9-11: Navigators/Adventures Reelfoot Camping Trip β›ΊπŸ”
  • 2/11: NO TROOP Meeting Superbowl Sunday 🏈
  • 2/18: Civil Rights Museum (Woodland Trail’s Hit The Trail for Values Branch) 🏞️
    • If you haven't already informed Elijah Waddle about your attendance, please do so ASAP. πŸ—“οΈ
    • If you're driving: πŸš— meet at the museum at 1 PM
    • If you're riding the church van: 🚐 meet at the church at 12 PM
    • A few families plan to grab a bite at Central BBQ after the museum tour for a late lunch. πŸ”πŸ₯Ύ
  • 2/25: Court of Honor πŸ…
    • Due to a church event, the Court of Honor time has been adjusted:
      • Ceremony starts at 3 PM ⌚
      • Boys should arrive no later than 2:30 PM ⏰
      • Boy’s Dress Code: Uniform top, Jeans or Khaki Pants (Khaki Pants Preferred), closed-toe shoes. Shirt must be tucked in. πŸ‘•πŸ‘–πŸ‘ž
      • We must conclude no later than 5 PM ⏱️

Hi everyone!

I hope you're all having a fantastic Friday! I'm Meghan Nolan, proud mom of Maverick from the Hawk Patrol and wife to Michael, who serves as the Hawk's Trail Guide. It is with great honor that I announce my role as the Committee Chairman for Troop 1914!

I'm thrilled to contribute my professional skills to help lead the troop, and I want to emphasize my commitment to openness, honesty, and transparency. Starting now, I will be sharing Troop News and Announcements every Friday. You can expect to receive these updates via email through Trail Life Connect, find them on the Troop Website's Weekly Announcement page, and see them on our Facebook page.

Your input is valued, and if there's anything you'd like included in the Weekly Announcement, please send it my way by the end of the day on Thursday. I look forward to a fantastic journey with Troop 1914!

Troop News:

Hit The Trail for the Science and Technology Branch:

  • We want to express our gratitude to Daryl and Lauren Murton and their FBI/SWAT friends for making the event on 1/28 unforgettable. 
  • Each boy will have the chance to sign a thank-you card for the FBI/SWAT team at our meeting this Sunday.

Court of Honor Time Change:

  • Due to a church event scheduled for the same evening, the Court of Honor time has been adjusted:
    • Ceremony starts at 3 PM
    • Boys should arrive no later than 2:30 PM
      • Boy’s Dress Code: Uniform top, Jeans or Khaki Pants (Khaki Pants Preferred), closed toe shoes. Shirt must be tucked in.
    • We must conclude no later than 5 PM
  • A new invitation will be sent out shortly. 

Fundraising

  • Don't forget the Change Collection Fundraiser—details are available on the troop's website.

Hit The Trail, Civil Rights Museum (2/18):

  • If you haven't RSVP'd for the 2/18 Hit The Trail to the Civil Rights Museum, please connect with Elijah Waddle as soon as possible.

Reelfoot Camping (Nav/Adv)

  • 2/9-11
  • If you are going, please bring $20 per person this Sunday (2/4) to cover the cost of food.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Join the Fundraising Committee by contacting Meghan.
  • If you're unsure where to get involved, or want to teach a lesson, or be a substitute Trail Guide, see Meghan.

Planning Meeting (2/4):

  • Following the 2/4 troop meeting, there will be a Planning Meeting. Required for Troop Master, Ranger, Committee Chair, and Trail Guides. All registered adults and parents are welcome. Submit meeting topics to Meghan Nolan in advance (MLNolanRN@yahoo.com).

Worthy Life Award:

  • Refer to the email from Peter sent on 1/29 for details.

Troop Website:

2/4 Troop Meeting:

  • Woodlands (Fox, Hawks, Mountain Lions):
    • This Sunday, Woodland Trails will focus on Wisdom & Teamwork. 
    • The canned dog/cat food competition for Hawks ends on 2/4, with the pie in the face event during the meeting close that night.
      • Date to deliver the food to the Tipton County Animal Shelter TBD
  • Navigators & Adventurers:
    • This Sunday, Navigators and Adventurers will build a bridge during the normal troop meeting. Build Leader: Michael Nolan. Dress warmly as the event will be outdoors. This bridge has the potential for use during bridging ceremonies and/ or visual representation of the crossing over from Woodlands to Navigators.
